If you are serious about sports photography, you will need to invest in the fastest lenses possible while building up your camera equipment collection. To freeze any action shots, you need the fastest shutter speed possible, which in turn, is directly related to speed of your lens.

Getting your first sports photographs

Even with all the theoretical knowledge, you will still need to get out there experiment, fail and practice some more. You can head out to any sports game being played in your neighborhood to brush up on your skills.

The exciting part about getting involved with sports photography is that there are so many types of to choose from. The most popular include baseball photography, football photography, golf photography, motorsport photography, ski photography and underwater photography.

You could begin with high school sports photography or anything at all but surely, there are enough events within a reasonable distance to start you down the road of becoming a great sports photographer.
